Former French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing (architect of the
European Constitution) outlined how Britain’s association with the EU should be redefined today. He said that it should remain a member of the European Union (EU) but should be given a special status to ensure it does not act as “a break on the progress of others” towards a more integrated EU today. He addressed British Parliamentarians and press on this issue at an event held by the Global Vision think tank in the UK Parliament. This was an important contribution to the debate by a skilled elder statesman and it has sparked considerable interest in the UK see here.

This is all very well, but when we had our first Parish Council meeting in January 2008, I predicted that the EU., would collapse by the end of 2008. We are now very close to that point.
Today is the first Parish meeting of this year and there is now an even bigger mess awaiting the poor old Taxpayer. And all those who live off the Taxes paid by the 30 something, million workers paying Taxation.
As things stand the poor old Taxpayer is shelling out some £2. Billion each week to Brussels. Thats one thing. But the real trouble is going to be funding the NHS. the cost is now getting on for £300. Million each day. That and the cost of the EU. amount to some £500. Million EACH DAY.
What with the loss of sooo many jobs and so much Taxation, it looks very much to me as though both Brussels an the NHS are heading
for the scrap heap. The sooner the better.
Enough for now, but before I go I must say,
it's good to find a grown up Website after using the Express and the Telegraph.
Kind regards to all, ATFlynn,
